Antiplaque Toothpaste by Tom’s of Maine
Health Benefits
This is a natural and healthy toothpaste that contains Xylitol to prevent plaque, Propolis and Myrrh for a clean and healthy feeling, and is a Fluoride-Free toothpaste.
From what I have studied about Fluoride, I have come to find that it is nothing more than a toxic waste that was added to toothpaste with the intent to build bone health, but this is something that has never actually been proven. Excessive Fluoride has been proven to cause Fluoride Poisoning, also known as “Flurosis”, which can cause Osteoporosis, Bone Spurs, Chronic fatigue, and can even be deadly. I believe you can properly clean your teeth without having to risk your health.
Side Note: If you shouldn’t have fluoride for your toddler’s toothpaste, why would you allow it in your own toothpaste?
Taste
This is flavored with Fennel, which reminds me of the taste of an all natural licorice! Since I like black licorice, I don’t mind the taste at all. It is not a very strong taste, so even those who are not a big licorice fan shouldn’t have a problem with it. They do have other flavors if you feel the taste might be an issue.

I hate “Diets”
I hate “Diets” because it just seems to imply that someone is only exercising or eating healthy for a short period of time. Once they lose weight and reach their goal, they go back to their old habits!
This type of thinking only turns “diets” into “yo-yo dieting”, which means after all that effort and time you too to lose weight and learn great eating and exercise habits, you just gained back all your weight…and then some.
If you know what I am talking about first hand, I am sure you hate dieting too. You are in luck though, because I have some good news and depending on how you look at it, maybe some bad news too.
Bad news first
I don’t think that it’s bad news, but for some it might be just that. The bad news is this: There is no magic diet pill or spell that will make your magically thin and healthy. Crazy, right? I feel like I might have just told someone that Candy Land doesn’t exist! hehe
You have to think of your eating habits and exercise routines as a part of your life. If what you are currently doing isn’t getting you to where you want to go, a temporary and short term fix won’t solve the problem for good. Maybe temporarily, but you don’t want a temporary fix because you will constantly have to worry about fixing a problem. You want to have a permanent fix. This involved a complete lifestyle adjustment and for some…and pretty big change in your life.
It may be a bit slower of a process to finally get to where you want to be. It may take time to find the healthy foods that you love to replace the old foods that didn’t do your body any good. It may take time to find and start a realistic workout routine you can keep up with and stay with (not the same machine, but the routine). By doing it this way, a lifestyle change, you will see long term results, which in the end, it’s something we are all after.
The Good news!
Your body will feel great! It’s amazing how much happier people seem to be when their body’s are functioning at their best because they are receiving the nutrients and exercise they need.
It’s not always about looking skinny/fit/slim…it’s all about being healthy and feeling good!
As always…it will be worth it. I’m here to cheer you on. You ready for this?

Do you really need Health Insurance?
Many people look at Health Insurance and wonder if it is really necessary for them and their family. Unfortunately, most people put it at the bottom of their priority list. In reality, it shouldn’t even be a question whether they should have it or not.
Don’t let money hurt your health
I know too many people that need to go the Doctor to take care of some serious health concerns, but they don’t because they think they can’t afford the trip to the Doctor’s office. I believe there are some things in life that are priceless. Your health is one of them, and a lack of money should never be a reason why you don’t take care of yourself or your family. The cost of Health Insurance is more than worth it for your family’s health.
Buy it before you need it. Yes, Health Insurance costs money. A trip to the Emergency Room without coverage cost even more. In a state of emergency and panic, you don’t want to worry about money. Make sure you are getting the treatment you really need.
You can avoid the worry in emergency situations by choosing a health plan that you understand, and a deductible that makes sense for you.
Healthy or not- You need it!
Are you already in good health? Whether you are healthy right now or not, you should always strive to maintain a balanced diet and exercise regularly. This will not only help with the cost of your Insurance premiums, but may also reduce the risk of needing to go to the Doctors for a serious health concern. Prevention is key!
Do you have a family history of Heart Disease, Cancer, Obesity, High Blood Pressure, etc? If you do, even more reason to maintain a healthy lifestyle and all the more reason to make sure you have Health Insurance – just in case. I know we don’t like thinking about it, but who does? By having Insurance, it can give you and your family some piece of mind.
Cost of not having Insurance
Not having Health Insurance is not worth the risk for yourself or your family. Here are a couple of common procedures, and the cost associated with each – if you don’t have insurance.
•Back Surgery – Do you have a herniated disc like I did? If I had to have surgery, according to surgery-guide.com, it would cost about $8,000. If you need a more complex back surgery, it could cost upwards of $17,000.
•Heart Surgery – The cost can be $20,000 or more.
•Cancer – There are so many different types of cancers. Based on the type of cancer and it’s location in your body, will be a determining factor to the total cost. So what are some people paying for cancer treatments? The cost can be upwards of $200,000 or more without insurance – this would be for the surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, X-Rays, etc.
•Medications – A single pill can be several hundred dollars. Depending on your needs, it can cost $2,500 or more each month to keep taking the pills your Doctor prescribes to you.
•In hospital stay- Need to stay overnight at the hospital? Plan on it costing anywhere from $750 to $2,500 a night.
Help
I am a huge believer of natural healing and preventative care. Sometimes you have to do more (I don’t like to admit it either), but just in case you need the hospital’s help to get you back on your feet, be sure you get the help you need without breaking the bank.

Sorbet Bar-Organic Blackberry by Julie’s Organic
This sorbet bar is absolutely amazing, and I have nothing but good to say about this frozen dessert!
First of all, it tastes great. And not only does it taste great, but it has great a great texture (almost like a fruit smoothie, but thicker since it is a sorbet bar). I bought this Sorbet Bar for an event, and people were shocked that this was not only Organic, but actually Healthy! For some reason people have this horrible misconception that Healthy Food has to taste bad. This is another reason why I started this Blog. I want to raise awareness to others to let them know about great tasting products that are actually good for you (or at least better than the competitor!).
The best part about this treat, is that it is pretty much guilt free. It is made with real fruit, and it is cholesterol free. For those who are lactose intolerant, this is also labeled as non dairy. Also, a very obvious comment is that it is certified organic.
Anyone who is on a diet, this is a great suggestion considering it is well under 100 calories. This is something you can enjoy with out feeling deprived as well as something you will not feel guilty for indulging.
Enjoy!

Importance of Breathing Properly During Exercise
Benefits
Breathing helps bring oxygen to the muscles, helps you relax, slows heart rate, and increases endurance
Application during Exercise
Be sure to develop a steady pattern of breathing while you exercise.
Breathe in through your nose, and excel through your mouth. If you breathe in through your mouth, that’s when you can start gasping for air, and your mouth just starts to burn. If this is the case, you aren’t doing it correctly.
Inhale during the recovery part of your exercise, and exhale during the exertion part of the exercise’s movement.
It’s important to breathe properly. Breathing properly helps you keep your form, prevents injury and unnecessary fatigue. If you want to go the extra mile, or beat your personal best, breathing properly among other things is a sure way to increase your productivity while exercising.
Application for Everyday
It is important to get enough oxygen in our bodies, and most people don’t get enough on a regular basis.
So how can you make sure that you are getting enough oxygen in your body? An easy way to practice how to breathe properly, is to first lay down. Put your hand on your stomach. You should notice that when you take in a breath, your stomach should rise. When you exhale, your stomach should drop or sink in.
Take in slow, deep breaths to fill the lungs full of oxygen, and slowly release it.
