Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Posted by on Jan 20, 2014 in Holiday, Skinny Tips & Quotes | Comments Off on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

I absolutely LOVE this quote from Martin Luther King, Jr.  It has one of my favorite sayings, which is, “Keep Moving Forward”. It is something that I try to live by, and I believe that if you can live by this, it can have a powerful impact on your life. So many people will give up on their health goals to eat healthy and exercising regularly because of a few bad days. It’s important to remember why you started and then dust yourself off and Keep Moving Forward. You may take a few steps back now and again, but if you keep moving forward, you’ll eventually reach your goal. Feel free to follow us, however you...

A Year From Now…

Posted by on Jan 1, 2014 in Holiday, Skinny Tips & Quotes | Comments Off on A Year From Now…

New Years day is a great time to reflect on the previous year – the good and the bad. As I was looking back on what I have accomplished this last year, I am quite happy with the results even thought I didn’t accomplish everything I was striving for. I am happy because I am further ahead now than last year when I started. If I was exactly where I was last year today, I think I would feel a huge sense of regret and “I should haves”. I think if you just keep moving forward every year- even if you haven’t yet reached your ultimate goal – you should feel happy and proud that you are closer to your goal. Progress is progress, no matter how small. What have you accomplished this last year that you are proud...

The Christmas Guide to Workout DVDs

Posted by on Dec 23, 2013 in Fitness, Holiday, Weight Loss | Comments Off on The Christmas Guide to Workout DVDs

Christmas morning. You tear off the wrapping paper to reveal the newest workout DVD, the front cover bearing the lean, leotard-clad body of an ex-soap star or TV presenter with blow-dried hair and veneers. Of course, every workout DVD worth its salt boasts a ‘before’ shot showing just how pale and miserable the celebrity was before she shed the baby-weight (and discovered fake tan) – to reassure you that they, too, are Real Women. The promises are tempting, like the half-empty box of Celebrations at your side. Hard to believe that all the secrets of a coveted dress size are contained within one shiny disc! From January 1st you diligently perform the routines, spurred on by the defined abs of the Real Woman on screen – until approximately January 4th work kicks back in. As for the DVD, that turns up in the supermarket bargain bin the following...
