Achieve Long-Term Results

Posted by on Feb 11, 2014 in Skinny Tips & Quotes, Twinkie | Comments Off on Achieve Long-Term Results

Small daily improvements are the key to staggering long-term results. I totally agree with this. How I eat today is COMPLETELY different than how I ate 7 years ago. My husband and I didn’t change our eating habits overnight. We made small changes over time, and little by little, we ended up making a huge difference in our overall diet and lifestyle. Achieve Long-Term Results If you want to start eating healthy, I don’t suggest being 100% healthy overnight. Start small. Maybe you can start with just your breakfast! For example, if you used to eat sugary cold cereal for breakfast, switch it up with a healthier alternative such as learning how to make Quinoa Cereal for breakfast. Sure, you might not eat the healthiest lunch or dinner, but you have made a huge change by switching your cold...

100 Calorie Snacks

Posted by on Feb 6, 2014 in Nutrition, Skinny Tips & Quotes | Comments Off on 100 Calorie Snacks

In recent years, 100 calorie snack packs have become super popular. Everyone wants to eat low calorie foods to lose weight or keep the weight off. The problem? Most – if not all – 100 calorie snack packs aren’t healthy for you…at all. Just because it’s only 100 calories…doesn’t make it healthy! It just means it’s “only” 100 calories of junk food. I suggest choosing to eat more nutrient-dense foods that are low in calories, such as VEGETABLES. Not only will you lose weight, but you’ll feel great. You’ll have more energy and you’re going to feel full. Let’s not forget how miserable it is to eat those 100 calorie snack packs only to still feel hungry (and let’s be honest, how many of us actually just eat ONE of those 100 calorie snack packs?). What’s your favorite go-to...

Are you “Big Boned”?

Posted by on Feb 4, 2014 in Skinny Tips & Quotes, Weight Loss | Comments Off on Are you “Big Boned”?

Big Boned Let me first start out by saying that there are different bone structures and body types – and not everyone was meant to be the same size. Being overweight doesn’t mean you’re not beautiful/handsome. It doesn’t measure your awesome-ness. It doesn’t measure your value and worth. However, your weight can gauge your overall health. If you’re overweight (or underweight!)…love your body now. Love your body as-is. Love your body enough to make positive and healthy changes one day at a time. Feel free to follow Skinny...

The Secret To Getting Ahead

Posted by on Jan 28, 2014 in Skinny Tips & Quotes | Comments Off on The Secret To Getting Ahead

The secret to getting ahead is getting started. From there, it’s consistency that allows for you to reach your goal. You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to eat healthy 100% percent of the time. You don’t have to exercise every single day. You don’t have to be perfect, which is a wonderful relief since nobody is perfect. It’s OK. I think the whole point is to learn throughout this journey and just keep moving forward. But before you begin this wonderful journey, you first need to take the first step. The secret to getting ahead is getting started.  Feel free to follow Skinny...

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Posted by on Jan 20, 2014 in Holiday, Skinny Tips & Quotes | Comments Off on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

I absolutely LOVE this quote from Martin Luther King, Jr.  It has one of my favorite sayings, which is, “Keep Moving Forward”. It is something that I try to live by, and I believe that if you can live by this, it can have a powerful impact on your life. So many people will give up on their health goals to eat healthy and exercising regularly because of a few bad days. It’s important to remember why you started and then dust yourself off and Keep Moving Forward. You may take a few steps back now and again, but if you keep moving forward, you’ll eventually reach your goal. Feel free to follow us, however you...

A Year From Now…

Posted by on Jan 1, 2014 in Holiday, Skinny Tips & Quotes | Comments Off on A Year From Now…

New Years day is a great time to reflect on the previous year – the good and the bad. As I was looking back on what I have accomplished this last year, I am quite happy with the results even thought I didn’t accomplish everything I was striving for. I am happy because I am further ahead now than last year when I started. If I was exactly where I was last year today, I think I would feel a huge sense of regret and “I should haves”. I think if you just keep moving forward every year- even if you haven’t yet reached your ultimate goal – you should feel happy and proud that you are closer to your goal. Progress is progress, no matter how small. What have you accomplished this last year that you are proud...
