Don’t Complain!

Posted by on Nov 26, 2012 in Skinny Tips & Quotes | 0 comments

Don’t complain about your problems… focus your energy and efforts on creating a life worth living and being excited about! Complaining won’t get you anywhere. Make steps to reach your goal and work towards accomplishing your health goals every day. You don’t need to be “perfect” every day – you won’t ever be (nor should you even try!), but it’s important to create a healthy lifestyle. Start small and work your way up. Maybe you start out by ditching your daily cheeseburger for lunch and you make a healthy sandwich instead. Start small and once you make it a habit, you can make another small choice in the right direction! One step at a time adds up to some major life changes in your life. Make it a positive change! Twinkie’s Challenge: Accomplish your New Year’s Resolutions

Posted by on Jan 3, 2011 in Health, Holiday, Twinkie's Challenge | 0 comments

On average, New Year’s Resolutions just don’t seem to last past February. This is the year to finally change all of that. This is the year to put the odds in your favor and finally accomplish your goals. Focus on a select few List all of the goals you would like to accomplish this year. Now just pick two or three goals that are the most important to you. If you choose too many goals to accomplish, you can get too overwhelmed which can hurt your chances of getting anything done. Be realistic with your goals. If you are 5′ 11″, you probably shouldn’t have your goal to be a “size 00”.  Not only would an impossible goal be discouraging to anyone, this type of a goal would be extremely unhealthy for you. Your goals should better your life rather...

Nothing tastes as good as…

Posted by on May 10, 2010 in Skinny Tips & Quotes | 3 comments

There is this quote that I found not too long ago, that I just absolutely love. It seems to have said it all better than I could have. I am not sure who originally said it, but here is a quote that helps me when I am at my weakest chocolate cravings in my life. “Nothing tastes as good as looking good feels” -Anonymous What is a phrase that helps motivate you to stay healthy and active? What motivates Twinkie…

Posted by on Mar 1, 2010 in Twinkie | 4 comments

I like clothes. I like to shop for clothes. So naturally, when I wanted to lose weight, I gave myself a shopping trip as my reward for when I reached my goal. I put money aside each month for my shopping trip, which I couldn’t touch until I reached my goal size/weight. So on Saturday afternoons when I wanted to go out for a shopping trip, I didn’t. It is what pushed me to be able to stick with eating healthy and exercising. Trust me, I stuck to it! If you want something bad enough…you will make it happen. And trust me, shopping for clothes in my new size was well worth the wait. What motivates you to stay eating healthy and exercising? I would love to hear from any additional ideas you have! Fitness joy for Twinkie

Posted by on Feb 8, 2010 in Twinkie | 2 comments

Believe it or not, I wasn’t always a fan of exercising…. When I thought of exercising I just thought of sweating, lifting weights, and trying to catch my breath. It has taken me years,  but I have come to love working out. I think the trick is just finding something that you love, and it becomes easy to stick with it. I started out with Dance. Dance worked for me because I love music, and it was just so much fun to move with the music. I could dance for hours on end, and I have before. If you are in an exercise routine that you absolutely hate, try to find an alternative that still gives you the same benefits. Again, if you actually enjoy what you are doing, you will make the time to make it happen, won’t...

Why you should give Yoga a try

Posted by on Jan 11, 2010 in Fitness | 3 comments

There is a lot of hype about Yoga, and the health benefits of doing Yoga on a regular basis. I have been a bit reluctant to try it out for several reasons. First of all, I like to do cardio works outs that make me sweat (funny how I used to not like that part of exercising), and something where I feel like I am burning a ton of calories and making some progress in my weight loss or maintenance. I tend to do exercises like running, swimming, and the elliptical machine. After those work outs, my body just knows that it worked out. This again shows me that I am making some progress, and I feel good about what I have done. So now back to Yoga. When I think of Yoga, I have to admit, I thought...
