10 Oils with Natural SPF

Posted by on Jun 10, 2014 in Beauty | Comments Off on 10 Oils with Natural SPF

I think Sunblock is great – especially when it’s non-toxic and safe for your body. If you’d really like to go all natural with your sunblock, you can use oils to provide you with your sun protection needs! I’ve heard of people using coconut oil or olive as a natural SPF, but after seeing what their SPF rating it, neither of those two oils have enough sun protection for my fair skin. I believe that something is better than nothing, but I would definitely look at using carrot seed oil or raspberry oil for an all natural sunblock. Oils with the Most Sun Protection Factor (SPF) Carrot Seed Oil: SPF 38-40 Raspberry Seed Oil: SPF 28-50 Wheatgerm Oil: SPF 20 Avocado Oil: SPF 4-15 Coconut Oil: SPF 2-8 Olive Oil: SPF 2-8 Macadamia Nut Oil: SPF 6 Almond Oil: SPF 5 Shea Butter: SPF...

Antiplaque Toothpaste by Tom’s of Maine

Posted by on Jun 28, 2010 in Health, Twinkie's Favorites | Comments Off on Antiplaque Toothpaste by Tom’s of Maine

Health Benefits This is a natural and healthy toothpaste that contains Xylitol to prevent plaque, Propolis and Myrrh for a clean and healthy feeling, and is a Fluoride-Free toothpaste. From what I have studied about Fluoride, I have come to find that it is nothing more than a toxic waste that was added to toothpaste with the intent to build bone health, but this is something that has never actually been proven.  Excessive Fluoride has been proven to cause Fluoride Poisoning, also known as “Flurosis”, which can cause Osteoporosis, Bone Spurs, Chronic fatigue, and can even be deadly. I believe you can properly clean your teeth without having to risk your health. Side Note: If you shouldn’t have fluoride for your toddler’s toothpaste, why would you allow it in your own toothpaste? Taste This is flavored with Fennel, which reminds me...

Health Benefits of Honey

Posted by on Apr 22, 2010 in Nutrition | Comments Off on Health Benefits of Honey

Honey is very good for you, but you must know that not all Honey is created equal. Before I go into the many Health Benefits of Honey, I want to first share with you several different types of Honey, so you can be sure you are only getting the best out there. Different Types of Honey Honey Just because you are buying “Honey”, doesn’t mean it is truly “All Natural”. Most honey on today’s market is processed, leaving out all of the good stuff, which is the reason why you would want honey in the first place! Commercial Honey (the typical Honey bear you see on store shelves) is treated with an intensive heating process that destroys the nutrients of Honey. Don’t always trust your Local Honey either, since many of them will use very little local honey, and...

Believe it or not, I wasn’t always a fan of exercising…. When I thought of exercising I just thought of sweating, lifting weights, and trying to catch my breath. It has taken me years,  but I have come to love working out. I think the trick is just finding something that you love, and it becomes easy to stick with it. I started out with Dance. Dance worked for me because I love music, and it was just so much fun to move with the music. I could dance for hours on end, and I have before. If you are in an exercise routine that you absolutely hate, try to find an alternative that still gives you the same benefits. Again, if you actually enjoy what you are doing, you will make the time to make it happen, won’t...
