I’m not perfect. You aren’t perfect. Nobody is perfect. And it’s OK that we aren’t perfect when it comes to our eating and exercise habits. Becoming healthier  is a process…a Journey. We can’t let one weak moment ruin our efforts. You don’t drown by falling in the water. The same concept goes with exercise. Just because you missed a day at the gym, doesn’t mean that you should consider the week a total loss. Did...

I know that my website’s name is “Skinny Twinkie”, but please know that I believe that the emphasis should be more about health rather than being “thin”. Please, let me explain… Jenna Fischer, who is one of the star’s of the hit comedy show The Office, explains that Hollywood’s focus on weight is no laughing matter. Posted by on Jan 6, 2011 in Nutrition, Weight Loss | Comments Off on The Most Dangerous Diets

There are so many diets out there; it’s hard to choose which one is right for you. I’ve noticed that, in general, diets can be classified into “types”. I’ve listed a couple of these diet types to avoid. Why? They are among the most dangerous diets out there; and chances are, you are on one of them right now. The Junk Food Diet There are plenty of unhealthy ways to lose weight, and a Junk Food Diet is one of the worst ways you can lose weight. The concept is simple. As long as you consume fewer calories, you can eat unhealthy food and still lose weight. A fairly new diet is the Ice Cream diet.  The rationalization is that ice cream is a dairy product and has calcium in it. If you have enough calcium you won’t store extra...

You can be skinny in a number of different ways. To narrow it down, you can become Skinny by doing unhealthy things to your body (diet pills, drugs, anorexic, etc), or you can become Skinny by being Healthy (excercise, eating healthy, etc).  I try to focus my efforts on being healthy, which in the end is what is going to help my body resist deseases, illness, fatigue, depression- and be “Skinny”. From my own observations, here are a couple of things you can get in the habit of, to help you become more healthy. 1) Replace your Soda with Water The average 12 oz can of regular Soda has about 150 calories in it.
