Hike While You Can

hike while you can

The weather is absolutely wonderful right now, which means it’s the perfect weather for hiking! Go outside and reconnect with nature. Just make sure to bring enough water, natural sun protection, and natural bug repellent! ;)

Health Benefits of Spending More Time in Nature

According to a 2009 study published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, the closer you live to nature, the healthier you’re more likely to be! Being outdoors in nature has been shown to help with anxiety and depression. This makes sense considering the best and most natural way to get Vitamin D is through sun exposure – which helps with anxiety and depression!

Vitamin D has been shown to strengthen the immune system and prevent hormonal imbalances, cancer, inflammation, obesity – just to name a few. There are new studies all of the time that show how beneficial Vitamin D is – and you get that best through being outdoors.

Also, natural sunlight exposure helps set  your body’s internal clock and normalizes hormonal functions that occur as specific times of day. This results in better sleep, which has a major impact on your overall health – including fat loss!

Go ahead… hike while you can! :)
